What it's like to work with us !
"I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Jonathan for several years on our project Into the Rewild, where he serves on the scientific council. Beyond his expertise and knowledge, Jonathan enables us to go further in our stories and narrative forms thanks to his synthesis skills and his mastery of communication tools, particularly on topics such as environmental issues, natural risks, and climate change. Together, we are more forceful and more impactful. Everyone should collaborate with Jonathan!"

"Jonathan Mille’s intervention not only raised our level of knowledge, with enlightening, indisputable references and a scientific approach that brings and confronts unbiased factual data. But it also, as the slides progressed, raised our level of awareness, and we could feel a form of solidarity emerge in the room among citizens of this world, simply as humans who are concerned about a common cause and see themselves exposed, through their actions, to an uncertain future. The intelligence of this researcher collectively engaged us, with a presentation that was empowering yet without the threats to our survival pushing us to give up, to say that it’s already too late. Congratulations for having sparked this and thank you. All of us had taken a step towards the psychological transition we need to make…"

"To be perfectly honest, I didn’t think much about the conference beforehand. I told myself: “again someone boring or too extreme. Let’s just go to “be there.”
I couldn’t be more wrong. Jonathan proved to be an extremely captivating speaker ! As he combined humor with complex scientific explanations, his discourse was clear and enriching. Grasping a fact-based perspective on climate change, it was accessible to everyone, even the ones like myself completely unfamiliar to environmental topics. In the end, a great man for a great conference. I’ll be sure to follow his future work closely !"

"Jonathan Mille kicked off the Climate Week held in Granville at the end of September 2023 with a conference that set the tone for our event: informative, demanding yet accessible to a broad, dynamic, and friendly audience.
As organizers, we were delighted to meet a scientist who was approachable, responsive, and who easily aligned with our request with simplicity, professionalism, and warmth.
The audience’s reactions, all very positive, were immediate and continued in the weeks following: “I realized I had a vague understanding of climate evolution, and now, I clearly grasp the severity of the situation,” “I left feeling more informed, yet not weighed down by the conference,” “How did this climatologist manage to depict a catastrophic situation without discouraging us from acting?”, “This scientist raised our awareness, and we could feel a form of solidarity emerge in the room among citizens of the world, simply as humans who are concerned about a common cause and see themselves exposed, through their actions, to an uncertain future. The choice of images on the slides, very judicious, helped me to visualise the ongoing and upcoming changes.” This conference made us all take a step towards the psychological transition we need to make.
A year later, as we consider a second climate week and renewing our invitation to Jonathan Mille, the memories of this conference remain etched in the minds of the people of Granville.
As organisers, we value his commitment, the breadth of his knowledge in both the physical and human sciences, the energy, and enthusiasm that this researcher continually conveys in a very rich dialogue, with a keen sense of pedagogy and communication. We asked him to join our scientific council because we rely on him to keep us informed about the evolution of knowledge, but also to give us concrete advice to maintain the momentum of collective action linking citizens, associations, elected officials, and professionals in our area to prevent and adapt to climate changes."

"This was a mind-opening mystical talk delivered by Jonathan Mille which delved into insightful aspects of climate change and the energy transition, its main implications, and its impact in reshaping geopolitical interests.
Jonathan underscored how the current narrative (mainly held by economists) isn’t in touch with the environmental reality: growth cannot be infinite, but rather is limited, as energy resources are finite. Jonathan also explored how due to our hyperconnected globalised system, a climate-change induced economic collapse will likely happen, in an abrupt and mischievous manner. As such, he emphasised the urgent need for societies to build up their resilience. He discussed resilience strategies, mainly urging states to adapt to ensure that a few of their industries can withstand the impending massive shock, as well as the need for a larger restructuring of global production means and supply chains.
Jonathan then shed light on the challenge policymakers face in predicting and managing risk, as states’ vulnerability to hazards, as well as ecological hazards themselves, are both constantly evolving in unpredictable ways. Thank you for this insightful talk!"

"My classes with Jonathan taught me to think about the world and what we want to do with it through a systemic approach. He showed us how, in a way, managing risk and creating resilience is like trying to keep a house of cards from collapsing. In a world filled with vulnerabilities and pressures, one must look at each card, each link of our interconnected and interdependent system if we are to face the challenges ahead of us and develop solutions that can actually solve the problems we are facing."

"The conference was built on enthusiastic exchanges between Jonathan and our team. We particularly appreciated Jonathan's willingness to bring himself up to speed by adapting his speech and examples. He took the time to discuss the students' school curriculum with the team and our seconded teacher, so as to ensure the best possible match between the elements covered during the conference. The teachers also greatly appreciated the content of the conference, which was well adapted in both form and content."

This exchange allowed us to discuss possible solutions on how to take action on climate change, and was a very enriching experience on a personal level.
The session then turned to a presentation (and discussion!) by Jonathan Mille, on the subject of neuroscience when it comes to climate change.
For my part, I found his presentation very enriching, relevant, and with a playful, understandable approach, far removed from a lecture. In my opinion, it's this type of format that makes the message even more relevant, and makes people want to ask themselves and those around them questions.
Its presentation, given in the form of a slide show, with pictures, drawings and games, may seem like a lecture for children, but it's actually an excellent way of getting the message(s) across - especially when it's communicated in a playful way, in collaboration with one's neighbor, and creates discussion and reflection.
Essentially, the presentation will have focused on our vision of climate change, and our behavior in the face of it, and how our perception was not necessarily someone else's perception. At the same time, our ability to integrate this information, as opposed to our ability to take action, was an essential and highly instructive point to address. I can't recommend this type of intervention and information sharing enough! For me, it's really something innovative, and adapted to the times, to help people understand the greatest challenge of our time, without losing it. Thanks again Jonathan!

Jonathan went to the West Normandy Chamber of Commerce and Industry to run a workshop entitled ‘Business and the climate: how to adapt to tomorrow's risks’ for a group of local businesses (directors, CSR managers, etc.).
In three words, I would describe this workshop as concrete, personalised and positive. CONCRETE, because adapting to and anticipating the risks associated with climate change is a strategic issue that is part of a company's reality and therefore part of its strategy. Jonathan brings these issues to life by contextualising them at the level of the company and its value chain, enabling the levers for action to be appropriated. CUSTOMISED, because the interactive facilitation methodology is highly adaptable to the people present, their expectations and their questions. The result is a constructive, progressive and enriching exchange thanks to the experience shared by the companies present. POSITIVE, because this workshop is action-oriented, tackling the risks with tact and good humour, and generating an exciting collective force.
In short, Jonathan dynamically demonstrated his expertise and understanding of the business in a short space of time, and provided the right level of insight to tackle the issues identified.
